How to Disable IPv6 in Windows Vista, 7, 2008

Yes, there is a proper way to disable IPv6 in incarnations of Windows Vista, 7, and 2008. If not done properly, certain updates and other procedures will not work (or work as expected). Microsoft has made this slightly complicated and requires editing the Windows Registry. Fortunately, Microsoft, has made a Fix it for each of the many options you can set, so we don't have to touch the registry at all. A link to the MS KB Article is below.
